The 1st Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by The founder, The Shina Kadri Foundation, Ambassador Adeshina Kadri was held at Ile tuntun Community in Ibadan on Saturday.

The Lecture which was attended by dignitaries from all walks of Life includes; Wife of the Philanthropist, Chief Mrs. Ajokeade Kadri; Chairman of Ile Tuntun Community Development Association, Engr. Okuneye, Oluomo of Akinyele, Otunba Adekunle Kareem; Baale of Idi Oro Elewa, Ologuneru, Chief Abobade Adefisoye; Baale of Asa, Ile Tuntun, Chief Abdulrafiu Lawal among others.

Other Islamic scholars who attended the lecture are: Alhaji Jamiu Akorede Oke, Chief Imam of Ile Tuntun; Alhaji Daud Sanmi Temidire, Imam of Adetokun; and Alfa Nasirudeen Afolabi among others.

Delivering his lecture, Chief Imam of Ile Tuntun, Alhaji Jamiu Akorede Oke whose Lecture was titled Total reliance on God enjoins Muslims to always have total dependence on whether in the secret or in the Open.

While illustrating with stories from the Holy Quran, Alhaji Oke urged Muslims to emulate a slave in the Holy book who relied on God for rain during acute drought and another woman who lost her only child but got the child revived at the point of being buried.

The Cleric also admonished Muslims to have reverence for Allah and observe the 5 hours of Prayer religiously as a way of exhibiting total reliance on the Almighty noting that religious duties should not stop after Ramadan.

He however commended the organizer of the Programme, Ambassador Adeshina Kadri for making his resources available for the purpose adding that it’s part of showing reliance on God.

He also urged other wealthy Muslims to emulate Ambassador Kadri because such gestures also attract rewards from the Almighty Allah.

In a brief chat with newsmen, The organizer of the Programme, Ambassador Adeshina Kadri reveals that the reason for kickstarting the lecture is borne out of the fact that he believes that Islam, like Christianity is a religion of peace and love.

Kadri, who is also the Asoju Oba of Orile Ilawo kingdom, in Abeokuta noted that though he practices Christianity, His father was a Muslim, and he’s been exposed to the ideals of Islam and Christianity early enough.

“I come from a background where my father, When he was alive was a Muslim, even though I wasn’t brought up in the Islamic way, somehow, I am a Christian, but the ideals of Islam and Christianity… I find out that both faiths centres around Love and peace.” He said.

“I felt this is the Holy Month,this something I believe in and I want to be part of, So in my own little way of propagating the gospel of Islam. So, when I see good things, I emulate them. And If everybody is doing this, the world will be a better place for all of us” he submitted.

He said that he was prompted to organize the lecture because he believes that if people listen to such lectures they will have a change of attitude towards many ills in our society.

The Lecture is expected to hold annually during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
