Gov Makinde’s Felicitation Thrills Olatunji Over His Installation As Asiwaju Oluyole
The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has expressed deep appreciation for the felicitation message sent by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, through the deputy governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, following his installation as the Asiwaju of Oluyole.
Governor Makinde had earlier hailed Olatunji’s dedication to grassroots development, describing his recognition by the traditional council as a well-earned honor.
The deputy governor, who delivered the governor’s message at the installation ceremony held on Saturday in Ibadan, urged the traditional council to continue to guide and advise Olatunji appropriately as he continues to steer the affairs of the council.
Governor Makinde, in his congratulatory message, praised Olatunji’s commitment to good governance and grassroots development, noting that his leadership at the grassroots had significantly improved the lives of residents.
“Akeem Olatunji has shown commitment to the progress of Oluyole Local Government. His new role as Asiwaju is a recognition of his impressive performance and service to his people, and I have no doubt he will continue to make a positive impact,” the governor stated.
Barrister Lawal who acknowledged his longstanding relationship with the newly installed Asiwaju Oluyole, equally expressed his felicitations to him and his family, urging him to remain focused and steadfast in his service to his people.
He expressed confidence in Olatunji’s leadership qualities to take Oluyole to a more greater heights in terms of development at the grassroots.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the event, Asiwaju Olatunji said he was overwhelmed by the governor’s kind words and pledged to continue contributing to the growth of Oluyole and Oyo State.
Olatunji reaffirmed his loyalty to Makinde and his administration, and promised to work even harder in his new capacity as Asiwaju Oluyole in ensuring that the people of the local government continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“Receiving such heartfelt felicitations from my leader, father, and mentor, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, is truly humbling. His leadership has been an inspiration, and I am motivated to do even more in service to my people.
“His exemplary leadership, pragmatic and inclusive approach to governance are some of the rare qualities that I for one, as his political son, have adopted in the affairs of Oluyole LG because as his political disciple, I feel it’s obligatory on me to sustain the legacy of Omituntun political dynasty in my local government.
“The deputy governor is also my father and we have come a long way together. His fatherly guidance and vast wisdom are some of the virtues that have shaped my life as a young and growing politician.
The installation ceremony, which took place at a private event centre Hall, was attended by prominent figures, including former deputy governors, National Deputy Chairman of PDP (South), Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, the Commissioners for LG and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, Environment; Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, Youth and Sports; Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, culture and tourism; Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, top state functionaries, members of the Olubadan in-council, Oyo CAN president, Chief Imam of Ibadanland, past and present members of the national and state Assembly, traditional rulers, political leaders, and community stakeholders.
