The Wife of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Mrs Tamunominini Makinde has charged over Six Hundred beneficiaries of the Agricultural empowerment of the Renewed Hope Initiatives (RHI) to not to mis-use the training and sell the farming tools given to them but to harness food for themselves and the state.

Mrs Makinde gave the charge at the Closing of the 3-days of Agricultural Empowerment by the Nigeria First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu through the Renewed Hope Initiatives(RHI) to put an end to challenges of Food Security in the Country.

Mrs Makinde assured the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu that the beneficiaries would make good use if the resources, promises to follow-up on beneficiaries and ensure that what they benefitted has not gone to waste.

She commended the initiatives which aim to encourage farmers, women, and Youth to curb Food insecurity and to ensure sustainability.

In his remarks, The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barr. Olasunkami Olaleye urged the beneficiaries to take the advantage of the training and support they have received from the program and be committed to make positive impact in the state.

He commended the convener of the Renewed Hope Initiatives, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for adding Oyo state among those who have benefited in the program.

Barr. Olaleye lauded Mrs Makinde for her leadership and commitment to empowering youth, women in Agriculture and commended her passion for Agricultural development and food security in the state.

In her remark, The State Coordinator Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Kakulu Omonene said that the training received by the beneficiaries dwell much on Nutrition and health noting that the training is a laudable training with empowerment for the beneficiaries.

Speaking with One of the Youth that benefitted from the program, Deji Adenugba expressed commendation to the Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the program which has opened their eyes to modern day farming which is affordable and easy to engage in.

He noted that he has learned on how to engage in hybrid farming instead of planting the heels of yams but planting the stems and how to plant chilly pepper that grow faster.
