Adaptation of Essential Medicine List in Oyo State is Key to Achieving Sustainable Healthcare Delivery Agenda- Dr Fagbemi

The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi has highlighted the list of essential medicines which is significant in ensuring access and key to the present government healthcare agenda which is Sustainable healthcare delivery for the people of the state.
Dr. Fagbemi stated this at workshop on the development of the state Essential Medicine List program, where he chronicled the origin of the essential medicine list which dates back to 1977 when it was first introduced by the World Health Organization.
He noted that the initiative marks a significant milestone in the history of Oyo state, as it is first time the state is developing its own essential medicine list.
Dr. Fagbemi emphasized that the achievement is a testament to the people’s Governor, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde’s commitment in providing sustainable and affordable healthcare delivery to the of the state.
The Chairman commended the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetumobi for aligning with the Sustainable healthcare delivery components of Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde’s Omituntun 2.0 agenda.
He urged all stakeholders and participants to contribute their best efforts to produce an essential medicine list that will achieve its objectives and stand the test of time.
The chairman expressed appreciation to His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde for providing the platform and enabling environment for technocrats to participate in the development of the essential medicine list.
Dr. Fagbemi reiterated the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the success of the essential medicine list.
He encouraged participants to engage in robust discussions and share their expertise to produce a comprehensive and effective list.
Dr Fagbemi said that he believe the medicine list would be approved by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the benefits of the people of the state to fully enjoyed the sustainable healthcare delivery agenda.
The Chairman further reiterating the commitment of the state government to providing quality healthcare services to its people.
