Former Oyo Assembly Member Kolade Dumps APC
A one-time member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Kolade Olagunju has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
Hon. Olagunju who is also a broadcaster and entrepreneur made this known in a chat with selected journalists in Ibadan.
According to him, the decision to dump the APC is in the interest of his numerous followers both home and abroad especially in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
His words, “I am no longer a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The decision to leave my former party is not a sole move, but a joint resolution after careful consideration by myself and political associates of decades.
“I did not abandon the party because it is a party I contributed immensley to build. However, it is time to leave and pursue the interests of my people on another political platform. I have not retired from politics. I am still here working on the field to see the other veritable platforms where I can further aid the development of my people.
“When I was in the House of Assembly, God was able to use us to influence as many personal and state government interventions to Akinyele local government. Our records are intact and available for everyone to verify. We did not just do it because of politics but to further facelift of our people.
“By the time I conclude my consultations, I will declare my next political tent. I want to thank everyone in APC who supported our cause. The people is always my focus. I will continue to pursue these dreams of emancipating our people till we get to the promised land,” Kolade said.
The former Oyo lawmaker who is known for his humanitarian services remains the best legislator with track records of outstanding achievements through legislative function and constituency projects.
Despite being an opposition member in the 7th Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Kolade Olagunju facilitated boreholes, blocks of classrooms and empowerment programmes for the people of Akinyele constituency 1.
The Aladoto and Eyan Bi Tiwa Initiator on Radio and Television also facilitated employment for the youths and periodically supported artisans with financial assistance to boost their businesses.
As activities ahead of the next political dispensation commences in a few weeks, it is expected that Hon Kolade will make known to the public his next political move.
