Liadi Taiwo, an officer of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), has made Oyo State proud by winning three gold medals in the 81 kg category at the just concluded Engr. Habu Gumel National Open Weight-Lifting Championship held in Abuja.
Taiwo’s outstanding performance catapulted Oyo State into second position, leapfrogging Bayelsa State in the weightlifting competition with a total lift of 220 kg.
In another impressive display, Tawakalitu Yekeen, another OYRTMA officer, delivered a silver medal for Oyo State at the Lagos State National Cycling Competition.

In 2022, Taiwo won three gold medals at the National Sports Festival in Delta.
