OYMASED, OYSHMB Collaborate on Healthcare Workers Training As DG Lauds Dr. Fagbemi’s Professionalism

…As Training Programs to Focus on Enhancing Skills Healthcare Personnel in Secondary Facilities

The Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED) has sought collaboration with the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB) to provide training programs for health workers in secondary facilities across the state.

This was stated by OYMASED management team led by the Director General, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas who paid courtesy visit to OYSHMB Chairman Dr. Akin Fagbemi to discuss potential partnership opportunities.

In his address, The Director General Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED), Dr. Morohunkola Thomas who praised Governor Oluseyi Makinde’s visionary leadership in appointing Dr. Fagbemi, noting that qualitative healthcare delivery is crucial for Socio-Economic development.

He highlighted Oyo State’s leading role in providing accessible healthcare in the South West geopolitical zone, thanks to the governor’s sustainable healthcare delivery system agenda.

Dr. Thomas emphasized the need for collaboration between OYMASED and OYSHMB to change health workers’ orientation towards excellent service delivery.

In his remarks, The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi welcomed the proposal, stating that training health workers has been a long-standing priority for the board.

Dr. Fagbemi suggested extending training to heads of parastatals, agencies, commissioners, chairmen of boards, director generals, and executive secretaries to optimize service delivery in their offices.

By strengthening this partnership, Oyo state can strengthen its healthcare system, addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases.

The training programs will focus on enhancing the skills of healthcare workers, particularly in secondary facilities.

The proposed training programs will also address the shortage of competent healthcare professionals in the state.

Through this initiative, OYMASED and OYSHMB demonstrate their dedication to improving healthcare delivery in Oyo state, aligning with Governor Makinde’s vision for Socio-Economic development.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Barr. Muyiwa Olagoke, Alhaji Jamiu Busari, Alhaji Tanimowo T.K, Mrs. Eyitayo Ayoola, and Dr. Chisom Fajinmi.
