The Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board, chaired by Dr. Akin Fagbemi, has partnered with Lead City University Ibadan to enhance the capacity building and training of eight Nutrition and Dietetic officers from various state health facilities.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Fagbemi expressed gratitude to Lead City University for supporting the board in conducting Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) tests for applicants to fill vacancies left by retirees or those seeking better opportunities abroad.
Dr. Fagbemi emphasized the board’s goal to upgrade Nutrition and Dietetic units in state health facilities to meet global standards, acknowledging the growing importance of this field worldwide.
Professor Kabiru Adeyemi, Vice Chancellor of Lead City University, confirmed the institution’s willingness to collaborate with the OYSHMB on advancing the Nutrition and Dietetic officers’ postgraduate education.
He advised the board to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the institution’s council to ratify.
Dr. Femi Adesanya, Director of Medical Services, thanked Lead City University for consistently supporting the OYSHMB.
He urged the newly admitted Nutrition and Dietetic officers to demonstrate good conduct and represent the board well.
Attendees at the meeting, held at the Vice Chancellor’s office, included Dr. Akin Fagbemi, Dr. Femi Adesanya, and Mrs. Adetutu Akerele from OYSHMB, as well as Professor Kabiru Adeyemi, Dr. Mrs. Oyebola Ayeni, and Dr. Nike Balogun from Lead City University.
