Birthday: Aide felicitates Adelabu, hails leadership qualities
An aide to Minister for Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, Com. Femi Awogboro has felicitated with his boss on occasion of his birthday, describing him as a visionary leader and a committed public servant.
He praised Adelabu’s unwavering dedication to the development of Oyo State and its people, citing his numerous contributions to the state’s growth and progress.
Adelabu is a renowned politician and two time former governorship candidate in Oyo State.
A statement by Awogboro noted that Chief Adelabu’s leadership qualities, wisdom, and selflessness have earned him a special place in the hearts of many.
According to him, Adelabu’s political career has been marked by his passion for good governance and his commitment to the welfare of the people, saying his governorship bid in 2019 and 2023 was widely supported by the people of Oyo State, who saw him as a beacon of hope for a better future.
Awogboro said, “As a seasoned banker and administrator, Adelabu brought his expertise to bear in his quest for public office. His campaign focused on economic development, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, resonating with the electorate.”
“We celebrate not just his birth, but his life of service, his dedication to the people, and his unwavering commitment to the development of Oyo State.
“Adelabu’s achievements in the private sector are equally impressive. As a banker, he rose through the ranks to become a respected figure in the industry. His leadership skills and expertise have been recognized nationally and internationally.”
He expressed gratitude to Adelabu for his mentorship and guidance, describing him as a role model for young politicians.
“Chief Adelabu’s integrity, humility, and kindness have inspired many, and we are grateful for his leadership.”
Outlining some of Adelabu’s achievements in power sector in the last one year, Awogboro said “The ongoing Presidential Power Initiative was one of the programmes that ensure improvement of power assets, this includes additional grid evacuation capacity by 2,230MW and an additional 183MW.
“There is also the rehabilitation of 15 brown field substations across the country. There is the construction of 22 green field substations with an expected contract date of October 2024.”
“On metering, the presidential metering initiative had been scheduled to provide two million meters per annum for the next five years to improve the sector’s liquidity and limit estimated billing.
“Completion of the bidding process for 1.5 million meters from the World Bank Distribution Support Recovery Programme to improve sector liquidity and reduce estimated billing has been done. 46,089 meters have been procured and deployed to military formations nationwide to reduce MDA (Ministries, Departments, and Agencies) debts and improve sector liquidity.”
Awogboro however prayed for Adelabu’s continued good health, wisdom, and success in his future endeavors, adding that he look forward to many more years of his leadership and service to the state and nation.
