NASCAP Visits Dr Fagbemi as NASCAP, OYSHMB Join Forces to End Mother-to-Child HIV Transmission

… As NASCAP visit marks significant step towards achieving 2030 HIV elimination target
The National Chairman of the National Task Team on Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), Prof. Oladapo Shittu, visited the Chairman of OYSHMB, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, today.
The visit was on behalf of the National AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, and STIs Control Programme (NASCAP), where Prof. Shittu is a key representative.
Prof. Shittu, who is also the Provost of the College of Medicine, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, was accompanied by Mrs. Lami Mayaki, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist with NASCAP.
The purpose of the visit was to emphasize the next steps and seek the cooperation of the Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board towards the 2030 target of HIV elimination.
The board is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the ownership and sustainability of the HIV program in the state.
The OYSHMB Chairman, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, appreciated Prof. Shittu’s team and commended NASCAP’s efforts in combating HIV in the state.
He pledged the support of the board towards achieving the set goals and ensuring the success of the HIV program.
The Director of Medical Services, Dr. Olufemi Adesanya, was present to receive and appreciate the team on behalf of NASCAP.
The visit marked a significant step towards strengthening the partnership between NASCAP and OYSHMB in the fight against HIV and achieving the 2030 target of HIV elimination in Oyo State.
