Borno Finance Commissioner Dies in His Room

Ahmed Ali Ahmed, the commissioner for finance in Borno State is dead.

Sources close the the late commissioner said Ahmed died inside his room on Monday, August 26, 2024, morning, Daily Trust reports.

While details of his passing are still sketch, the source said the late commissioner had exceed the time which he normally comes out from his room in the mornings, raising concerns.

It was gathered that the door to the commissioner’s room was forced open by some individuals in his house and his corpse discovered inside it.

The source said, “Oga is no more, he died early this (Monday) morning.”

Confirming the death of the commissioner, his colleague, the Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, in a statement released in Maiduguri said Ahmed would be buried according to Islamic rites.

According to Tar, the late commissioner’s funeral has been scheduled to hold by 5:00 pm at Ahmed’s family house on Damboa Road behind Indimi’s residence.
