Family bid farewell to Alaba of Abanla, Oba Tiamiyu Oladipupo in Ibadan
The family of late Alaba of Abanla, Oba Tiamiyu Olabiyi Akanmu Oladipupo on Wednesday bid farewell to the late monarch as he was laid to rest in Abanla, Oluyole Local government, Ibadan.
The burial ceremony, which took place at the monarch’s residence, was attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, and family members.
Oba Oladipupo, who passed away at the age of 104, was said to be the oldest king among Baale’s that were just elevated to the status of Oba by the Oyo State government.
The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere led the team of Chief Imam and Alfa’s that pray for for the deceased including the Chief Imam of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Oyo state chapter, Dr. Basheer Olanrewaju
The deceased was revered for his wisdom, kindness, and leadership while alive.
Speaking with newsmen, one of the sonem of the deceased, Dr. Olaide Oladipupo said his late dad lived admirable life with his committement and dedication to the course of Allha, saying God has given the deceased all what he requested for.
He said, “God gave him long life and good children and he was committed to service to humanity till he died, he served God till he died, even at old age, Baba don’t miss his prayer.
“He was always contented with what he has, he was not overambitious, yet, God gave him all good things of life without struggling for it, he was dutifully person committed to the growth of his family and community at large.
“He brought us up as a children in a religious and God’s fearing way, and hate anything like corruption or cheating.
“Alot of people will miss him for his generosity, it is not how long someone live but the impact you make while alive.”
He however urged leaders to always live a good life because whatever someone does while alive, people will always talk about it after death.
Oba Oladipo passing has left a void in the hearts of his people, but his legacy will continue to be celebrated and honored.
Among dignitaries who paid their last respect include the Special Adviser to governor Seyi Makinde on Security, CP Fatai Owoseni (rtd), Former Commissioner for health in Oyo state, Otunba Gbola Adetunji, former chief of Staff to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, Oluyole Local Government Chairman, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, Honourable Lekan Adeyemo, Community liason officer, Kopek Construction, Alhaji Ashafa.
Others are: Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade, Prospect High school old students association led by it’s President, Mr. Femi Odudu, Leaders of All Progressive Congress (APC) led by the Chairman, Alhaji Waidi Akinleye, HRHs, Alayunre of Idiayunre and Onilatunde of Latunde, as well as baales and chiefs in Oluyole Local Government.
