…As Nigerian Students Reject Violence, Embrace Peaceful Resolution

The National Association of Nigeria Students has called on well-meaning Nigerians to embrace dialogue instead of engaging in protests that might plunge the nation into chaos.

This call was made at the end of the 84th National Association of Nigerian Students sitting, themed “Uniting For Peace and Progress in Nigeria: Opposing Anarchy and Calling For National Reforms” The event was held at the Assembly hall of Ibadan Polytechnic Ibadan, Ibadan, and brought together students from across the country.

Addressing newsmen, the Senate President of Nigerian Students, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde, emphasized the importance of dialogue over protest.

He noted that while protest is a fundamental right, the potential consequences of unchecked protests could be devastating.

Comrade Babatunde warned of the risks of violence, economic disruption, and social instability.

He urged both the federal and state governments to intensify efforts to mitigate the economic hardships faced by Nigerians.

The students’ leader also admonished Nigerians, particularly students and youths, to reject calls for anarchy, Instead they should focus on protecting the nation and supporting the current administration’s efforts to create a better Nigeria.

In his remark, the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Lucky Emenofe, called on the federal government to address the issue of hunger in the country.

He specifically urged the government to curb the challenges of high inflation, which has exacerbated hunger and poverty.

The National Association of Nigerian Students had previously backed down from participating in the ‘Days of Rage’ protest organized by a faceless group.

By choosing dialogue over protest, the students’ association aims to promote peace and progress in Nigeria.
