Olubadan Coronation: OYRTMA Diverts Traffic For Olubadan’s Coronation

…As Traffic Diversion in place from July 11th to 12th
The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority has advised motorists and road users who use to ply Idi-Arere inward Mapo and Beere inward Mapo routes to utilize Oranyan, Agbeni, Labiran, Agbongbon and Kudeti to avoid traffic congestion as from 11th of July till the end of coronation on the 12th of July.
The statement was made by the Executive Chairman of the agency, Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd) today.
Major Adesagba said that only those who are invited and attending coronation are expected to ply the restricted routes.
He, however warned motorists and road users that does not have any business in the area not to ply the route for the period.
Major Adesagba futher averred that the diversion would start from Beere roundabout, as well as Idi-Arere junction inorder to give easy rides for motorists and road users plying the routes.
The statement further noted that due to coronation ceremony, its expected to attract a large number of guests and spectators, which may lead to traffic gridlock on the aforementioned routes.
The Executive Chairman added that the alternative routes which Oranyan, Agbeni, Labiran, Agbongbon and Kudeti and the officers of the agency have been drafted to the aforementioned alternative routes to ensure free flow of traffic.
“To mitigate this, the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority has designated alternative routes for motorists to use.
“Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and make use of the alternative routes provided by the agency.
“This will help to minimize traffic congestion and ensure a smooth journey for all road users.
The Chairman assured motorists that the alternative routes are safe and efficient.
The agency who also deployed personnel to strategic locations to direct traffic and ensure a seamless flow of traffic.
The coronation of the new Olubadan of Ibadanland is a significant event that holds great cultural and traditional significance.
“The Oyo State Government is working hard to ensure that the event is a success, and the advisory from the Road Transport Management Authority is part of the efforts.
“Motorists are urged to cooperate with the agency and follow the designated alternative routes.
“By doing so, they will be contributing to the success of the event and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
The agency further warned that any motorist who fails to comply with the advisory may face traffic gridlock and other difficulties.
“The Chairman appreciates the understanding and cooperation of motorists and road users, With their support, the agency is confident that the coronation ceremony will be a resounding success, and the state’s transportation system will continue to run smoothly and efficiently, he said.
