Eid-El-Kabir: Makinde Calls For Unity, Love, and Resilience Among citizens
…As he urges continued backing for greater success
Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has called for more support and encouragement from people of Oyo state for his government to achieve more success in the pace setter state.
Governor Makinde made the call while hosting government functionaries led by Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal at his ikolaba residence.
According Makinde who was represented by Barrister Lawal, the state would not have achieved this far without the support of the people.
Earlier at the Agodi-gate prayer ground, Governor Makinde said the day signifies sacrifice and commitment to the will of God, therefore charged for continued unity, love, tolerance and resilience among citizens.
Leading the Muslim faithful in the Eid-El-kabir prayer, Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Shiek Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, urged Muslims to embrace sacrificial love as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Symbolic killing of ram were done by Sheik Agbotomokekere while prayers were offered to the progress of Governor Makinde, family, government functionaries and Oyo state and Nigeria at large.
Among the entourage of Barrister Lawal were, PDP Vice Chairman (South), Taofeq Arapaja, former deputy governor, Hazeem Gbolarumi, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Soliu Adelabu.
