Makinde Commission State-of-the-Art Solarized Medical Oxygen Plant,May 29

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will today commission a state-of-the-art solarized Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Plant at the Jericho Specialist Hospital. The Medical Oxygen Plant, capable of producing 300 liters per minute, is situated in the heart of Jericho Specialist Hospital.

In addition to the oxygen plant, the Newborn Unit and Kangaroo Mother Care Room will also be commissioned within the same premises. The launch of the Oyo State Strategy for the Scale-up of Medical Oxygen in Health Facilities (2024-2028) will also take place during the commissioning exercise.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, expressed her delight at this remarkable achievement by the Omituntun 2.0 administration in the health sector. She described the solarized Oxygen plant as the first of its kind in Nigeria.

Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi applauded health partners in the State, including UNICEF, the Government of Canada and Norway, IHS Towers, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, for their collaboration with the government in ensuring the success of the projects.

The commissioning ceremony is expected to be graced by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, top government functionaries, and other political stalwarts in the State.
