Power Generation to Hit 6,000 Megawatts by Year-End – Minister

…as Adelabu assures Nigerians of permanent stability in power sector under Tinubu’s administration

The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has assured Nigerians that the power generation will be increase to six thousand megawatts before the end of the outgoing year.

The Minister of Power made the assurance while distributing food items to the people of Oyo State under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu to cushion the effect of economy hardship.

Adelabu said that the present administration has come up with workable and practical solution that would solve the age-long problem in the sector and promised not to relent until the Permanent stability return to the powers sector.

He however, said that the present administration are committed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Nigeria.

Adelabu stated that “What we are experiencing at the Ministry of Power, i had told you that we are doing everything possible to make sure that stability returns to the power sector.

“The power sector has notorious for instability, we are trying to attack the root cause of the problems of the sector, so that we can bring permanent solution to this sector.

“We have had over 40 Minister in this section before and we have not move Forward as desired but we are assuring Nigerians that under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu we are going to have permanent solution to the problems of the sector.

“Our first few months in office is what we use to diagnose the real problem in the sector and we have come up with workable and practical solutions that would solve the age-long problem in the sector and we have started taking steps.

“We are at the stage of implementation now and am sure that we have started seeing some little improvement in stability of power across Nigeria.

“This is just the beginning, I can assure you as the Minister of Power that we will not relent until the permanent stability returns to this industry.

“For the first time in the past few years, we are have been able to achieved Five thousand Mega Watt of power just last week which is why we have witnessed the little improvement in power supply to our household, to our businesses, to our industry.

“We are not relenting in our effort, our target is by the end of this year or before the end of this year we should be able to take our power generation output to six thousand mega-watt for the first time in the history of Nigeria.

“Not just words of mouth, you will feel it in the transmission and distribution of this target output before December of this year.

“I have determined personally to make an impact in the sector, it is not in my nature to fail, everything I have put my hand upon in the past has succeeded, this will not be an exception and I know that I have the support of my people from Oyo State.

“Am their representative, If I failed, they failed God forbid but when I succeed, they all succeed.

“We are determined to do this job, when I looked back and I see my people, everybody that is here today, I know they are praying for me, that is their wish that I succeed in this assignment.
