Ibadan North-East LG Boss Encourages Love, Peaceful Coexistence in Eid-el-Fitr Message

In his Eid-el-Fitr message, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, called upon the Muslim community to spread love and promote peaceful coexistence among all individuals, irrespective of their class, age, or tribe.

He extended his congratulations to the Muslim faithful on the occasion of the first day of Shawwal and expressed gratitude for the support his administration has received since its inception.

While addressing the progress made in his two-year tenure, Hon. Akintayo highlighted his government’s success in eradicating thuggery and violence from the local government, while also improving basic infrastructure and healthcare services at the grassroots level.

He appealed to the residents of Ibadan North-East to continue supporting his administration to ensure the dividends of democracy reach everyone.

Emphasizing the importance of discipline and unity, Akintayo noted that the spirit of Ramadan teaches individuals to be understanding and compassionate, as not everyone is fortunate enough to have their desires fulfilled.

He urged the community to embrace love and maintain a peaceful coexistence amongst all members of society.

“In terms of discipline, this Ramadan teaches us and encourage us to be discipline in the sense of understanding that, not everything we want, is what we will get.

“Understanding that not everybody is balanced, so we need to show love, spread loveand encourage a peaceful co-existence among everybody, regardless of the class, age and tribe.

“I will like to thank my people in Ibadan North-East for their immense support they have been showing right from the first day i got into office.

“I thank the C.D.C, Religious leaders, Traditional leaders, NUT, The Market Men and Women and everybody in general.

“Again am saying let us continue with the good work, I have read alot feedback by myself from various angle and all I ask from them is to give us that support again and hopefully this time we will be able to do better than what we have done in this tenure.

“We gave been able to deal with the act of violence and thuggery in the local government so far in thus tenure, it is difficult for people to see any form of violence, cultism, or otherwise in Ibadan North-East.

“Today, because we have been able to sensitised each other and make that awareness go-round and they now understand that everyone is a stakeholder in Ibadan North-East, so we are enjoying a relatively peaceful Ibadan North-East as it never been before today.

“By the grace of God, with the good work and the effort we have put-in, in all sincerity, I believe we will beat anyone hands down.

“The campaign is a rigorous exercise because we are not taking anything to chance, we are working both day and night to show the good people of Ibadan North-East that we are capable and we are in full support of whatever decision they take.

“So we are starting again by next week Monday by visiting Ward by Ward for the second time,” he said.
