Oyo Deputy Speaker Hosts Members of Muslim Media Practitioners To A Special Iftar
The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi has hosted members of the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN in the State to a special iftar (breaking of Ramadan fast).
The event was held at the Deputy Speaker’s lodge, GRA Ibadan.
Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi who represents Ona Ara State Constituency in the State legislature while addressing the media practitioners said he was happy to host his fellow professionals as he was a National Assembly Correspondent for years before venturing into active politics.
He commended the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter for using the platform of their professional calling to promote Islamic faith.
Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi who described journalism as one of the best professions in the world, urged media professionals to uphold the ethics of the profession always.
In his remarks, the National President of MMPN, Alh AbdulRahman Balogun (ARAB) commended the Deputy Speaker for being a good representative of Islam and the media in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
He said Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi has brought his journalistic experience to bear in his position not only as a legislator but also as one of the Principal officers of the house.
Earlier, the Oyo State Chairman, MMPN, Alh Adebayo AbdulRafiu said the iftar program (breaking of fast) hosted by the Deputy Speaker was part of activities lined up for the 2024 Ramadan
He said the iftar had signalled the beginning of a closer relationship between the Deputy Speaker and members of the Association in the State.
He assured that the Association whose members cut across all Media Houses in Oyo State and Nigeria would continue to promote, peace and security of the State through their news reportage
The iftar program featured lecture on ” Benefits and modes of praying Qiyamul layl.”, special prayers for the host, his family, members of MMPN, Oyo State and Nigeria at last.
