Hardship: Mrs Makinde supports Senior Citizens in Oyo With Medical care, food items
The Wife of Oyo state governor, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde has called on well-to-do indigenes of the state and diasporans to support the present administration to help the senior citizens to survive the present challenges being confronted.
The call was made while organizing and conducting medical check-up and distribution of food items to the Senior Citizens of the state, held at the government house, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Mrs Makinde said that Ageing is an opportunity and strength, noting that it is imperative for them to be taken care of.
She advised the senior elderly ones in the state to take care of themselves medically and spend their quality time with their children and grandchildren.
Mrs Makinde, however, commended Governor Makinde for supporting her office to have successfully organized the program and for the regular payments of pension which showed that the governor holds pensioners in high esteem.
In her address, Commissioner for health, Mrs Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi admonished them to ensure they take regular check-up on their sugar level, diabetes and to take much of water during this heat period.
In his remark, the Secretary Nigerian Union of Pensioners, Comrade Olusegun Abatan called on the state government to sustain the program of regular medical check-up for the Senior Citizens of the state.
