Security: Speak out when your are in danger-Odukoya admonishes Oyo Residents

Oyo state government has admonished the people of the state to ensure they speak-out whenever they see something that can endanger the lives and properties of their neighborhood within the state.

The admonition was given by the Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security, CP Sunday Odukoya retired while commissioning the state office building of Man O War Nigeria.

Odukoya who explained that the Open-door policy given to the security agencies by Governor Seyi Makinde and synergy within the security commanders was the reason behind the peaceful co-existence witnessing in the state.

He asked for more support of the people to the present administration in order to do more and give out the dividend of democracy to all and sundry.

“When you see something that can endanger the lives and properties of other people please try and give that information to security agencies.

“Thank God in Oyo state there is synergy within the security commanders and they share intelligence and that is why you see that in Nigeria today, Oyo state is one of the safest state one can live.

“If you want to get assurance from the fact that Oyo State is one of the safest, anything starting from Wednesday, move around the Hotels in the state, you will see fully booked up to the weekend because people want to come and enjoy their weekend because of security.

“The Governor has even promised more logistics to security commanders do that they can still perform better because there is room for improvement in everything.

“The key to peaceful Co-existence in the state, is that the governor has made open-door policy to the security agencies to ask for their needs anytime to make sure they do their job without any hindrances.

“He has open-door policy for the security agencies and in our security meeting with all the security commanders is regular, so with this we share security intelligence among ourselves.

“We even extend it not only in Oyo State, we extend it to other states, like Kwara, Ogun states, so that we don’t have problem here and ‘Aji se bi Oyo Laari, Oyo se bi eni kan-kan’.

“So we are leading and we will still continue to lead when we talk of given adequate security to the good people of Oyo State.

Earlier in his address, Oyo state commander for Man O War Nigeria, Yekeen Lukman asked for more support of the government inorder to support and give more of intelligent information to the security agencies for the benefit of the state.

“What we are doing here today is the commissioning of Man O War state office, since 2010 Man O War has been in existence, this will br the first time we will have a place where we can call our own.

“We have been renting apartments, we have been using schools all around for an office but this time around we have a place we can call our permanent office where the public can locate us.

“From this new office, we can deploy to anywhere if there is any emergency, in this office we have computer room where we can receive signal if there is any distress anywhere.

“Anytime have any information or we some miscreant coming together to cause mayhem, we quickly notify the security agencies and they always moved to action immediately.

“We have been relating an urgent information to the security agencies immediately we observed it.

“There is no how we not have challenges, is just that we will keep on asking for more.

“We still need more equipment in our office here, we need operational vehicles, though we have two Hilux that Governor Seyi Makinde gave to us about two years ago but we are still asking for more, so that wherever there is an issue, you know we have 33 local government and we have our men across the 33 local government and we have just two patrol van, anyway the governor has been doing well for us but we are still asking for more.

“I will urge governor Makinde to continue his good work and keep on bringing the youth into his government so that at the end of the day we will have a peaceful state more than what we are enjoying today, he said.

Dignitraries present at the commissioning were, representative of Nigeria Police, Department of State Security Service, Nigerian Army and Civil defense.
