Oyo NUJ Press Week: Tinubu’s administration is committed to economic reform-Minister

The Federal government has said that it committed to economic reform and invest in critical sectors that will overtime help in stabilizing the Naira and enhancing the nation economic prospects.

This was stated by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris who was represented by the Director public relation and Protocol federal Ministry of Information, Mrs Omolara Esan during Nigeria Union of Journalists 2023 Press Week, theme: Nigerian Economy: Reimagining Education System For The Fifth Industrial Revolution held at the Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo state.

Mohammed said that the aim of the present administration is to bridge the gap between the urban and rural areas of the nation in ensuring every Nigerian has access to accurate and unbiased information by educating the media sector.

He however, charged the media to continue to report the development currently taking place under the present government who has taken some bold initiatives to ensure the prosperity of the citizens and the nation.

Earlier in his address, Oyo State governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by the Commissioner for information, Prince Dotun Oyelade expressed his appreciation to Oyo State Journalists for their support to his government and for always understanding the agenda of the present administration in the state.

He averred that the state has move a step further from it predecessor achievement noting that the state education has been recognized as the corner piece of the present government.

In his speech, the guest lecturer, Prof. Kehinde Kester demanded that Federal government to inject industry 5.0 by using human and robotic and involving human dignity and environmental sustainability for the boosting up the economy of the country

Earlier in his address, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo state, Comrade Demola Babalola bemoaned on the state of the nation’s economy charging federal government to apply technology to change the economy of the country.

He however called for revolution on the economy, education, welfare of all Nigerians and in good governance of the country.

In his address, the Ace broadcaster, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi implored all journalists to ensure they are professional and to do more where there is lapses inorder to articulate solutions to the numerous problems of the country.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Week is a week program which kick-off of today and it will run over this week.
