The Executive Assistant to Governor Makinde on People with Disabilities, Hon. Timothy Olufemi has emphasized the importance of unity and steadfastness in sharing the dividends of democracy towards creating an inclusive society that leaves no one behind, including those with disabilities.
While he extended his heartfelt greetings and encourage citizens to embrace unity and perseverance during independence Anniversary.
Hon.Timothy made the statement during his congratulory message on the occasion of 63rd independence Anniversary Nigeria today.
Hon. Timothy said that independence day is a cherished time for reflection and appreciation of the noble principles upon which the country was founded noting that it serves as a reminder of the unwavering determination of the founding fathers displayed in their pursuit of freedom and justice for all.
He further appreciated the unwavering commitment of Governor Makinde in priotizing the welfare, empowerment, initiatives and policies which have played a pivotal role in improving accessibility, healthcare, education, and overall quality of life for persons who disabilities.
Hon Timothy noted that the remarkable effort of Governor Makinde have earned the state recognition for its efforts towards fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities.
He averred that he that Governor Makinde’s vision and dedication have had a significant impact on promoting a more inclusive society, where persons with disabilities are respected, valued and empowered.
He added that by championing the right of disabled individuals, Governor Makinde has set an exemplary standard for other states across the nation to emulate by the inclusion of the people with disabilities.
The Executive Assistant further urges the public to use this time of celebration to foster a deeper understanding and empathy towards the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
He implored all and sundry to embrace inclusivity and promoting awareness, to build a society that truly reflects the values of independence and equality for all.
