Schools Resumption:Oyo Govt Monitors Public Schools
…commends Teachers, Students for being on ground
Oyo State Government, on Monday, embarked on monitoring of activities and inspection of schools, as pupils and students resumed for the first term of the 2023/2024 academic session across the state.
Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Prof.Salhu Adelabu, who led other government officials on schools’ inspection in Ibadan metropolis, commended Teachers and Students for actively being on ground and commencing academic activities.
The commissioner called on parents and guardians of the primary School pupils to allow their wards to come to school as the academic session activities have begun fully in the schools.
He enjoined teachers to put in their best at complementing the efforts of the present administration, at attaining qualitative education in Oyo state.
He said: “We have gone around the secondary and primary Schools to monitor and supervise resumptions today. In the Abadina College, the full school resumed, the students were in the classrooms and teachers commenced teaching.
“I commended the Principals of the two schools, both the junior and secondary schools for good jobs.
“For the primary Schools, many of the pupils were not in the class, and we have encouraged head teachers to work on them.
“I want all the parents to know that the schools have fully resumed and should allow them their wards to start coming to school immediately.
“I give kudos for being on the ground in their various Schools.”
Similarly, the commissioner also paid on the spot inspection to the newly constructed model SMART School at Sogunro Area of Akinyele.
The Commissioner, while addressing the teachers at the SMART School who are currently on training to make best use of the knowledge acquired from the training.
He admonished teachers to make the best opportunity, as the government relies on the SMART teachers.
He charged them to always put the interest of the state first in the discharge of their duties and to see themselves as indispensable partners in the task of repositioning Oyo State.
Some schools visited include, New Model School SMART School, Sogunro; Abadina College School, Abadina Basic School University among others.
