Wife of Delta Gôvernor unveils Pet Project
The Wife of Delta State Gôvernor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori on Thursday unveiled her pet project, ”You Matter Charity Foundation”.
Oborevwori announcing the project on Thursday in Asaba during a meeting with wives of lawmakers and wives of council chairmen, said that the pet project would focus on helping the vulnerable in the society especially children with autism.
The governor’s wife said that the project is geared towards supporting the ”MORE agenda” of Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori.
She explained that her vision is to create a society where everyone feel valued irrespective of their background with the motto: ”Everybody is Somebody”.
Oborevwori also said that the foundation would advocate for accessible healthcare and right to education for every child, women empowerment, elimination of gender-based violence as well as drug abuse.
She added the foundation would also engaged in carrying out various outreaches that would impact on rural dwellers across the state.
She therefore called for cooperation and support of women, adding that the foundation was open for collaboration from well meaning individuals and corporate organizations.
“We appeal for your kind donations as we run this course for the good of all.
”Your support will be needed as we carry out these programnes round the state. Get ready and join the train so we can reach our brothers and sisters at the grassroots.
“We believe that with a sincere show of concern and expression of love for the vulnerable, they will become valuable and create a world where everybody is somebody,” she said.
In their separate remarks, the lawmakers’ wives led by the wife of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mrs Timiebi Guwor and the Chairperson of Wives of 25 Council Chairmen in the state, Mrs Rachel Onoyake, thanked the governor’s wife for the initiative.
The women while thanking God for the victory of Oborevwori and his wife during the last election, they pledged their support and commitment for the governor’s wife pet project.
They prayed for the success of the Gov. Oborevwori-led administration.
