Olodo: OYRTMA Issues Traffic Advisory, As Oyo Government Opens Alternative Road
The Oyo Road Transport Management Authority OYRTMA, has advised road users to maintain sanity on the Oki-Olodo alternative road provided by the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration.
Recall that the Oyo State government on Wednesday opened an alternative route in the axis, appealing to road users not to hinder the flow of traffic on the new route.
The Commissioner for Works, Public Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Daud Kehinde Shangodoyin, who visited the 2.5 kilometre Oki Junction-Olodo Bank Road fixed by the government as an alternative route for road users in the axis, said the collapsed bridge would also be fixed in six months.
Corroborating the position of the Commissioner for Works and Transport, the General Manager of OYRTMA, Mr Ayoade Adeoye said, “Motorists are advised to navigate towards Oki Transformer Junction inwards Aba Baale area to link Olodo Bank , Adeleye, Lalupon and Iwo Road.
“Alternatively, Motorists could opt for the Oki Transformer Junction to Aba Baale to link Olodo Garage, Ikumopayi, Arubiewe area.
The Agency beseeched commuters to drive carefully around the axis as its men and officers will be working day and night to ensure free flow of traffic in the axis.
“We urge motorists and other road users to cooperate with men and officers of OYRTMA in the discharge of their statutory duties.
“Our officers have been deployed at both ends of the road to curtail and contain excess of those driving against traffic rules and regulations” Adeoye concluded.
