Oluyole 2024: Rewarding Commitment, Dedication And Loyalty

Reward is a core element of human resources management that attracts talented, loyal, and dedicated individuals, motivates them, and retains those who have earnestly and vigorously pursued a common objective. People have climbed the ladder of leadership and success across the world today as a result of strong reward mechanism.

One of the unique attributes of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration is that it listens to the voice of the people and rewards commitment, loyalty and dedication to service at all levels, and that is one of the reasons why the administration keeps making steady progress and getting it right with its decisions at every port of call.

In the buildup to the last 2023 general elections, many people came out to express their interest in one position or another. While some succeeded, some succumbed to higher authorities and worked for the success of the party.

Some accepted the decision and sadly sought alternatives routes on platforms of other political parties while some stayed out and engaged in anti-party activities. The election has come and gone, and the rest is history today.

It is always important for politicians to know for a fact that two people cannot fly the flag of a party at the same time. The voice of reason should always prevailed especially in the best interest of the party.

A typical example of a loyal, committed, and dedicated grassroot politician and party man to the core is Engr Akeem Olatunji, the Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oyo state. This is not to hype or make him feel good about himself being a politician but people should be commended for aligning for what is right at least in the interest of the party the same way we rebuke those who acted otherwise

Before the election and when the election became inconclusive in Oluyole Federal constituency, Engr Olatunji was everywhere in the news projecting and defending everything and anything connected to PDP either at the national assembly election or state.

So, Yes! it won’t be out of place if like many others we join them to rate Akeem Olatunji as the best PRO in the history of the political party in Oyo State because he knows the job like the back of his hands.

Olatunji’s media prowess was further evident in the way and manner he trained a group of young, vibrant and committed young minds under the umbrella of GSM Advocates to be ready for guerilla media battle ahead of the last general elections. Even though not professionals, they seized the social media space on all platforms and made sure opposition parties had no space to breath. This to me is leadership per excellence.

Even the Holy Bible says to everything in life is an appointed time and season. In Oluyole local government today, it is not an exaggeration to say Engr Akeem Olatunji Sarsino commands very high respect in every area you may want to think of both within and outside the party at the community level. So, let Olatunji replicate his leadership acumen in government as the Executive Chairman of Oluyole for the betterment of the party.

Olatunji has many traits copied from His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde and those traits have continued to work for him as a grassroot politician. He is rarely easily angered, he gives everyone around him an inclusive sense of belonging and most importantly, he is very humble to the core.

Even after losing out on the Federal House of Representatives party ticket, Olatunji would embark on a ward to ward financial and material empowerment of party members as a motivational drive to keep them going. He would always jokingly say “awon tio se ise won b’oseye lo faa ti se fi po n’orun governor” (it’s because some people are not doing the right things was why there’s too much demand on the governor).

The decision of the core stakeholders in Oluyole are with Akeem Olatunji from the LG Party Chairman to the Party Ward Chairmen, Exco and all the 15 Chairmanship aspirants and over 95% of the leaders and party members.

Only those who are collaborating with Settle in dissipating the resources of the Council and working against the interests of the party are with him.

That Akeem Olatunji is unanimously adopted as the consensus candidate for the position of Chairman of Oluyole Local Government should be considered as a reward for loyalty and dedication over the years.

That the incumbent, Hon. Settle Olaide, has become so unpopular among PDP members and the good people of Oluyole local government is a reflection of his poor performance and disloyalty to the party being the Executive Chairman, because it is a position of trust with huge responsibility and high expectations.

If accusing fingers are pointing to Hon Olaide Settle over antiparty activities which in fact frustrated our efforts during Hon. Mogbonjubola’s election, then it’s important such a person should be made to pay the price for disloyalty and lack of respect for GSM and our great party to serve as deterrent to others in his shoes.

However, accepting the verdicts of higher authorities and making introspective corrections are the surest paths to securing the future as long as he still wishes to remain in our great party, the PDP.
