We’ll Build On Your Foundation For The Girl-child, Women–Makinde’s Wife Tells Aisha Buhari
Wife of Governor Seyi Makinde and First Lady of Oyo state, Engr. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde has said that she and other wives of the 36 state governors in Nigeria would continue to build on the foundation laid down by the immediate past First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari.
The Oyo state First Lady made this disclosure yesterday during a Send-forth ceremony organized by the Nigerian Governors Forum Wives (NGFW).
She also confirmed this in a post on her Facebook page on Sunday.
The event which was specially organized to appreciate and bid farewell to Mrs Buhari for her positive contribution to the development of women, youths, and the girl child during her time in office especially through various initiatives which included but not limited to the Future Assured Program, (FAP).
Mrs Makinde who has championed several initiatives in Oyo state towards entrenching rights and protection of women and youths in the society noted that the legacies left behind by Mrs Buhari would be consolidated upon.
According to the post on Mrs Makinde’s Facebook page, the Oyo state governor’s wife wished Mrs Buhari well in her future endeavors.
The Facebook post reads: “This evening, the Nigerian Governors’ Wives Forum (NGWF), organized a send-forth programme to bid farewell and appreciate the former First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Mrs Aisha Muhammad Buhari for her positive contribution to the development of women, youths and girls in Nigeria during her tenure in office especially through her various initiatives, including the Future Assured Program.
“Thank you @aishambuhari for your service to our great nation and We wish you the very best in your future endeavours. We will continue to build on the foundation you have laid for the betterment of Nigerian women and girls.”
