Oyo State NACHPN Chairperson Charges Newly Elected Officers to be Good Ambassadors

Newly elected officers of Local Government branches of National Association of Community Health Practitioners (NACHPN), Oyo State Chapter have been advised to be good ambassadors of the Association.

This advice was given by the Chairperson of the Association, CHP. Olushola-Jimoh Tolulope Adebanke at the Orientation Retreat recently organized for the Officers, held at KOLTOTEL Hotel and Suites, Ibadan.

At the Retreat which was described by members of practitioners gathered across the State as both glamorous and memorable, Olushola-Jimoh charged the officers to be dutiful, forthright and visionary.

While appreciating the out gone Local branch executives for the numerous supports to her administration, which height of it culminated to a procurement of the State Hummer bus, the State’s Chairperson of the Association admonished the newly elected officers to see their victory at the recently concluded election as call to service and prayed that God give them wisdom and strength to lead their members well.

Earlier in her address, the Guest Speaker at the program, a Seasoned Professional Nurse, Unionist and Orator, Comrade Rukayat Afonja, presented vivid expectation from the Officers.

Afonja did not leave any Stone unturned as she unveiled the rational and administrative functions of the Officers.

She opined that a “Good Union Leader must have a firm grasp of the dynamics of unionism, labour laws, employment regulations and mastery of organizational terrain/politics in addition to adequate/diverse skills, aptitude, knowledge and experience.”

Afonja added that “Leadership must be ideologically sound, tenacious, innovative , have high energy, dogged, possess deep convictions. Trustworthy, Selfless and capable of eliciting members trust and confidence and sustaining their spirit and resistance.”

The Event features; Key Note Addresses, Lectures, Questions and Answers. The Local Branch Executives that have served the Association meritoriously were also appreciated and awarded with Certificates.

The program had in attendant, the Management of Atiba University, Oyo who have been promoting the fortune of Community Health Practitioners in the actualization of their academic advancement drive.

Also present, were; Directors (Community Health) of Primary Health Care in the State, the representative of Labour Union and Pressure Groups and other Stakeholders in the Primary Health Care across the State.
