Ibadan N’East LG flags off construction of Omi-tuntun modern market
Ibadan Northeast local government, has flagged off the construction of Omi-tun-tun ultra-modern market for the increase of internal generated revenue and to create an alternative space for the road side traders evacuated from the old Adogba shopping complex before been demolished .
The flagg-off of the Omi-tuntun Ultra-modern market event took place in Iwo-road/Oojo Lagos-Ibadan express road, which is inline with governor Seyi makinde’s promise to make life conducive for market men in Oyo State.
Addressing newsmen, the chairman Ibadan North-East local government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, assured victims that they will be first considered before allocating remaining spaces at the newly built Omi-tuntun Ultra-modern Market to other interested applicants.
Hon. Akintayo averred that the deal the local government had with developer of the project on 60/40 basis noting that whatever coming to the local government will be on renter basis.
In his address, the project manager for the construction of the Omi-tuntun Ultra-modern market, Engineer Adedeji Ade said that project is split into two phases, warehouses and the lock-up shop noting that the completion of the project is eleven month duration.
He explained that the main motive of reconstructing the market into an ultra-modern market is to be able to stand the standard of other market and to that will accommodate more traders.
