Oyo Supplementary Elections: Adeleke Throws Weight Behind Abass Adigun, Mogbonjubola Jagaban
PDP Chieftain and Executive Chairman, Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company, Dare Adeleke has thrown his weight behind two of the party’s candidate who will be heading for a re-run of the 2023 General elections in the state.
Adeleke who is often referred to as the godfather of grassroots politics in Oyo, said that “as it was in the general elections, so shall it be in the supplementary election which INEC has slated for February 15.”
The Independent National Commission INEC, had declared the Ibadan North East/South East and the Oluyole Federal Constituencies, null and void.
Adeleke in his solidarity message to the PDP members representing both constituencies assured them that it will be another landslide.
In a press statement released by his personal assistant from Ibadan the Oyo State Capital, on Thursday, Adeleke described Hon Abass Adigun Agboworin
representing Ibadan North – East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency as a man who has been tested and trusted.
He said “There is no gainsaying and absolutely no doubt that Honourable Abass Adigun, the man his people fondly call, Agboworin, has touched the life of his people and has brought immense progress to his people.
“Unlike some representatives Agboworin did not warm the bench in the green chambers wasting people’s votes, on the contrary, his voice was resounding and he sponsored Bills which brought change to his people.
From water projects to energy, to scholarships, and other developmental strides, Agboworin has impacted greatly on his immediate community more than any other representative ever did.
Adeleke assured Adigun that his aspiration for another term is a done deal as he has his people by his side: “We will be there to ensure you cruise to victory because those who work shall be rewarded and we will not allow usurpers who only come to steal the people’s commonwealth have the day.” He said.
He also gave similar assurance to Mogbonjubola Jagaban saying that he has proven himself as a worthy son of Oyo by making himself available to serve and providing his large reppatoire of knowledge, experience, goodwill and resources to his people.
Reacting to the APC’s released statement that it will not be a landslide for the PDP, Adeleke described the APC as “shrieking losers who are dancing the last dance of shame.
He said: “They will again be throughtly thrashed and disgraced at the polls. Oyo people know better. If they are depending on Tinubu’s Victory, even Tinubu knows that they have failed and has distanced himself from them. They need to go back to the drawing board and re-organize rather than continuing like a disorganized band of drunkards.”
