More Developmental Programmes Await Oyo people in Omituntun 2.0- Hon.Tallest

The Special Assistant to Oyo state governor Engineer Seyi Makinde on OYSIEC (Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission) Hon. Tallest Innocent has said that the people of the state should be expecting more of transformational and developmental program which will take the state from poverty to prosperity as the present administration in the state is moving from Omi-tuntun 1.0 to Omi-titun 2.0.

Hon. Tallest made the statement while addressing Journalists in his office while appreciating the people of the state and the non indigenes for their support giving to governor makinde during the general elections.

Hon. Tallest said that the present administration led by governor makinde had been good to the Non-indigenes most especially the Ibo community which the Ibo community repaid the governor makinde his kind gesture to them during the elections.

He appreciated the Ibo community for their support for the current administration in the state for supporting the re-election bid of governor Seyi makinde.

Hon.Tallest further appealed to the aggrieved members of Oyo state People’s Democratic party (PDP) to forget what happened in the past and to forward and support the present administration in it bid to move the state from poverty to prosperity.

He advised opposition party in the state to extend their support to the present administration and share ideas with current administration inorder for the to enjoy unprecedented peace.

Hon. Tallest admonished all the Non indigenes in the state to continue in their businesses and not to involve in illegal businesses that can put their personality in the state disrepute.

He averred that “The victory of governor Seyi makinde is well deserved, at least all of us in Oyo state knows how far His Excellency has tried to change the status of the state to what it is today.

“In has been making effort to see that the state is rank number one in the country, so I think he deserve the victory.

“People have been saying a lot of things about the elections and the inter-tribal remark and propaganda and to me we have come a long way, Nigeria is one and I don’t know why somebody will say ‘this is my place or it is no man’s land’ and I said can you show us that person that made that statement that this is no man’s land because if you tell us we will be able to trace whether the man is from the Ibo side from the Hausa side even a Yoruba, as far as am concern and as far most of us are concerned Nigeria is one.

“I don’t know who is going to change it now, and I will advise us to stop this thing whenever elections is coming on because we say alot of things carelessly when elections period.

“So I will want to advise us to be reasonable when we want to campaign, been patriotic is not for one person, it should be for country first before anybody and I still stand on my word that nobody have ever made that statement is a political statement and that is what people used to campaign.

“Some people are even ginger their people to come out and vote, some people are using it to demoralized other people but to me nobody have ever made that statement.

“And we know that we have come from very far place from our place to Lagos, we cannot say Lagos is no man’s land, somebody own’s the land before we get there and somebody will still remain there when we leave there.

“Nobody should use some words that does not have meaning to punish others.

“The issues of destroying other people’s properties, the business, we should try to be considerate, the man you destroy is market in the market is not politician, he does not know the president neither the governor talkless of the local government chairman, he doesn’t even care about who become governor, what they beg for is let their environment be enabling for them, so destroying their market is bad because they are not part of you.

“We should be reasonable whenever we are taking some actions.

“Omi-titun 1.0 has been there before the election, and His Excellency has put down the roadmap to Omi-titun 2.0 before the election and he said by himself that any point in the roadmap he did not do talk.

“You can get the copy of the Raodmap to Omi-titun 2.0 by downloading it or get it, whenever it get to place and he is not been able fulfill the promise from what he stated in the Roadmap you talk.

“I want to use the opportunity to talk the Ibo community and the Non-indigenes in the state for coming out and supporting the re-election bid of governor makinde.

“When we say we are going here that is where we are going to, before the election have been telling people that you don’t need to go and be telling people other things because they are not voting any party except PDP.

“Governor Seyi Makinde has been good to the Ibo community in the state, look at the environment, nobody has been disturbing us in our market place, we are not paying unnecessary taxes, before now there is a time the previous government that this group will come and another one will also come to collect money from us unnecessarily.

“Since the administration of governor makinde nobody had molested us, everywhere is peaceful, no more fighting in the market, no more quarrelling, no more ethnicity war or whatever, we are happy that is the reason we showed the world that we are behind him, that is the reason we came out enmasse vote.

“Since I have been growing up, I had never seen a marging like that before in defeat, I had not seen it before, it shows that the man is doing well.

“I will want to advise some of us that might still having grudges in their heart to calm down give him the support and see what would happen because to me we Ibo we are even jealous of Oyo state especially where I come from we have not seen something happening like this in our different states.

“Oyo state is a state where people look up to now, Youth corpers runs to Oyo state, business people run to Oyo state why because it is peaceful, the government is paying the workers and pensioners as at when due, the government is not deducting the salaries of the workers unnecessarily, they do things as at when it suppose.

“If you notice like one to three years now, there is a date we have for paying salaries which 25th of every month called Omi-tuntun date.

“Those that are running to the state, are running to the state because of the peaceful state.

“You can see that every Friday of every week are filled because of the tight security and the peaceful state of the state.

“That is why you see that we the Ibo are returning his kind gesture back to him by voting for him massively during the election.

“I want to beg us that most of us that are not happy, the aggrieved party member please let us forget about what had happened in the past, I could remember that His Excellency had said that even the remaining two months he will work till the last day and I think what he needed now is everybody support, we have tested him, we tried him and we have seen that he qualified to be and for now he still the man.

“I will want to beg and appeals to everyone of us most of that are not happy with the party and the opposition party too let us support him, election has gone this is your state, if it is bad is your state, so the little we can do to make the state better let us do it.

“Governor makinde have said that if you have any idea that will help the state bring it up, he will implement it, he will look at it and if it is ok he will take it.

I think governor makinde is doing well.

“I want to advise the Ibo community and the non indigenes in the state to go about their businesses the way normally do,we are not problem seeking type, go back to your business and do your business do not do any illegal thing and don’t obstruct the government policies and just do the right thing at the right time.

“Omi-titun 0.1 is good but I know Omi-titun 2.0 will best thing that has ever happened to Nigeria government, please I want to advise everybody to calm down and face your business squarely and leave the rest for God, he said.
