Keep Calm, Tegbe’s Mandate ‘ll Be Retrieved Soon–Oyo PDP Boasts After Studying Evidence From Poll

….says Agboworin, Mogbonjubola will win election landslide

….says party still studying results from Oyo Central, North Senatorial Districts, Saki East/West federal constituency

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has described the February 25 election result in Oyo South Senatorial district where Barrister Sharafadeen Alli of All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner ahead of Mogaji Joseph Tegbe of PDP as a temporary victory.

The ruling PDP in the state disclosed that after taking custody of details of events from across all polling units and wards under Oyo South Senatorial district, and carefully studied them, it became substantially and evidently clear that the outcome of last week’s election was the mother of all electoral fraud in the history of elections in the senatorial district.

A press statement by the Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oyo state, Akeem Olatunji on Saturday evening stressed that apart from the fact that INEC failed to transmit election results electronically as enshrined and mandated by the Amended Electoral Act, there were concrete evidence of electoral fraud by the APC.

While assuring party faithfuls and loyalists to keep calm amidst persistent controversies still trailing the last election, Olatunji stated that Tegbe’s mandate would be retrieved from Alli at the court of law.

Olatunji also disclosed that the party is still studying results from Oyo Central, North Senatorial Districts, as well as Saki East/West federal constituency for necessary legal actions.

He added that the PDP House of Representatives candidates in Oluyole and Ibadan North East/South East federal constituencies, Honourable Abdulmajeed Mogbonjubola and Honourable Abass Adigun popularly known as Agboworin respectively, would emerge winners at the end of their elections earlier declared inconclusive.

It would b recalled that while Agboworin maintained a comfortable lead in the inconclusive house of representatives election in Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency, Hon. Abdulmajeed Mogbonjubola trailed the candidate of the APC, Hon. Akande Sadipe with a very close margin while waiting for the conclusive election in the affected areas in ward 2 and 7 being PDP stronghold with over 6,000 voters yet to cast their votes.

“We’re very certain of victory in Oluyole and Ibadan North East/South East federal constituencies with available results so far, we’re battle ready to return to the polls anytime INEC is ready for us because while it is already a known information to all that Hon. Agboworin is coasting home to victory already, it is also certain that going into the conclusive part of the inconclusive election in Oluyole federal constituency at PDP strongholds, Hon. Mogbonjubola can as well prepare to begin his representative duties at the 10th assembly.” Olatunji said.

Meanwhile, Olatunji disclosed further that emerging facts from the field clearly indicates that Mogaji Tegbe of PDP won last Saturday election convincingly but the electoral fraud perpetrated in broadday light in Ibadan North, Ido, Ibarapa and two other local governments have been uncovered and will be presented in court as hard evidences.

“We’re very flabbergasted by what we have discovered and it is very exigent and important to tell the whole world that the outcome of election in the last Oyo south senatorial district was nothing more than a charade, electoral fraud, and daylight robbery that can never be allowed to stand for any reason.

“We have deliberately refrained from making any official statement since the senatorial candidate of APC in Oyo south, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) because we patiently awaited hard facts from the field across all polling units and wards in the senatorial district.

“Having studied the facts before us as a party, we are more than convinced that Barrister Alli’s victory could best be described as the mother of all electoral fraud in the history of elections in Oyo south senatorial district, and based on this we advise him (Barrister Alli) to prepare to return the stolen mandate.

“It is such a shame that just when we thought we have the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) to deepen our electoral process and provide for more credibility and transparency in the exercise, our hope became dashed all thanks to political desperados in the APC who see election as a do or die affair.

“The hard evidences before us which arrived from the polls in Oyo south senatorial district are rather alarming particularly results from Ibadan North, Ido, and Ibarapa and two other local governments. We will not give them a clue on how we bursted their electoral fraud in so they would be kept in the euphoria of their illusive victory. We will meet them at the Tribunal in due time.

“In the meantime, all PDP loyalists and members in the state should remain calm in the face of this broad day light election robbery because, APC will not be allowed to get away with this and we will ensure that Mogaji Tegbe’s mandate is reclaimed.” Olatunji added.
