Xmas: Oyo first lady urges womenfolk to show sympathy to less privileged during festive periods
Wife of Oyo state governor, Engineer Tamunominini Makinde has advised the women in the state to ensure they share whatever they have with their neighbors during this year Christmas celebration.
She stated this during the End of the year party with the women of Oyo state and also sharing food items for the women, held at presidential lodge, government house Agodi, Ibadan.
Mrs makinde explained that caring for women means caring for everyone it is indirectly caring for the family, caring for the state and extend to the nation.
She further admonished the women in the state not to focus on peripheral things but ensure they reflect on what God has done for them and their family.
Mrs makinde urged the women to have the understanding that they are better that those who do not have and make sure they share the little they have.
She said “It is nice to see your beautiful faces woman, My dear women of Oyo state once again thank you for coming, I welcome you all to today 2022 end of the year party.
“I am grateful to God for allowing us to see another Christmas, the Christmas season is a season to reflect, thank God for what he had done since the beginning of the year and also share with our friends and family the little we have both time, health, happiness and it is a season to reflect and share.
“The Christmas season for us is really to be thankful and share love.
“Many of us might think that we do not have enough for ourselves, so there is no need to share the little we have but I will say to you my dear women as long that you have something you are better than those who do not have, so let us learn to share the little we with one another for God loves us and also love cheerful givers.
“When we share, there is love in sharing, God himself share his only begotten son with us which is the essence of Christmas, therefore let us share the little we have with one or two people this Christmas season.
“Share with them and show them that they are loved because you represent God around them.
“Thank you my dear women of Oyo state once again for the hugs and for coming out for dancing.
“I want to say for those of you who could not even walk and make it out here, thank you so much for coming.
“Thank you for supporting my husband, his Excellency, I want to say kindly continue to support him and pray for the success of his administration.
“I want to thank my husband the governor, Engineer Oluwaseyi Makinde for the food items we have with us and the cash gift would go a long way.
“Just to celebrate Christmas, I want to thank you, once again women in the spirit of sharing please go home share a cup or two with a neighbor, in giving nothing is too small when you share with love .
“I want to say again thank you for coming here today, I wish you all a safe trip, merry Christmas and I hope to see you 2022, she said.
In her remark the Commissioner for special duties, Alhaja Faosat Joke Sanni pleaded on the women to come and support the re-election of governor makinde as the nation bis moving to the election period.
She further admonished the women to reflect on the performance of the present administration to support the victory of the present government at the poll come 2023.
Mrs Sanni averred that “We are getting to the season and we don’t want people to be at the edge, come and support us because the governor had been doing wonder.
“He is a performing governor and we want all of you from your locality, from your grassroot to support Engineer Seyi makinde for his re-election bid, she said.
In their separate remark, the beneficiaries commended the first lady for her kind gesture toward the women of the state inorder to have a joyous Christmas celebration.
