OYRTMA Discovered An Abandoned Stolen Vehicle in Ibadan
The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has helped to recover a reportedly stolen Black Toyota Camry car with registration number KRD 493 HU in Ibadan.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Executive Chairman of the Authority, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi Ph.D whilst briefing newsmen on the development earlier today at the administrative headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan.
According to him, the vehicle was conspicuously abandoned at the Dandaru junction of the Mokola-Secretariat way when OYRTMA officials on regular operational routine noticed that the vehicle had neither driver nor owner in sight. “Our men and officers on their usual routine of maintaining safety on our roads and ensuring free flow of traffic on Saturday 19th November 2022 discovered this haphazardly parked vehicle and scouted the immediate environment in search of the owner. However, it was observed that the owner or driver had for whatever reason abandoned the vehicle in such a manner that it constituted serious danger to other road users. Our men therefore impounded the Black Toyota Camry with Registration number KRD 493 HU at about 0633hours 19th November, 2022”, Dr. Fagbemi said.
Speaking further, the OYRTMA Boss said, “It was after about three days of the impoundment that we received signal of the case of theft involving the aforementioned vehicle. The Police has been duly informed and investigations are on to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident while the general public is hereby informed of the development and the rightful owner with sufficient evidence of ownership is being called upon to claim his vehicle”, Fagbemi said.
He added that the effective road transport management system by the Agency was enabled by the intervention of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde who did not only empower the Authority to thrive but also embarked on operation-zero-porthole across the State.
You may note that this would be the twelfth stolen vehicle/motorcycles the Authority under Mogaji Akin Fagbemi has recovered in the year 2022 alone and handed over to their owners after full investigations.
