The Oyo state command of Man O’War Nigeria has appealed to candidates of the various political parties and their supporters to shun violence before, during, and after the 2023 general elections.

The paramilitary outfit state commander, Alhaji Yekeen Lukman, made the call in Ibadan on Saturday, during the 2022 route march of the command, tagged: Trek for Good Governance.

While addressing journalists shortly after the 15 kilometers trek, Alhaji Yekeen Lukman cautioned the youth and other electorates to avoid promoting tribal and religious sentiments during campaigns.

The Oyo state Man O’War Nigeria boss further said the command has deployed personnel to all the 33 local government areas of Oyo state to gather useful intelligence for the conventional security agencies ahead of the polls.

He added that the Oyo state command of Man O’War Nigeria has been maintaining a cordial relationship with all other paramilitary outfits in the state as well as the arm forces, pledging that he will continue to stand on all the existing protocols already established.

Alhaji Yekeen Lukman, however, appreciated the Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde and the executive chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority, OYRTMA, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, for the support given to the command.
