2023: Oyo Accord guber candidate Adelabu asks politicians to shun social vices during campaigns

Oyo state Accord Party gubernatorial candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has called on all the candidate contesting for various political positions in the state to shun thuggery, holiganism and vandalization of properties but involve in intellectual campaign inorder to give the electorate preference during election.
Adelabu stated this at a lecture organized in commemoration of his 52nd Birthday by a support groups in Ibadan, the state capital, Oyo state.
The lecture which was titled: 2023: General Elections in Nigeria And The Problem of Leadership Selection: What Roles For Political Parties and the Electorate.
The former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria said he has discovered some of the mistakes he made during 2019 campaign and promised to ensure they they don’t repeat themselves as the 2023 campaign begin.
Adelabu advised the supporters of Accord Party not to fight against any members of any political parties noting that the remaining members in Oyo APC despite his defection are still loyal him.
Earlier in his lecture, professor Adewale Yagboyaju from the department of political science, University of Ibadan said leaders electorates and political parties have roles to play in sustaining Nigeria’s democracy.
In his welcome address, the convener of the event, Comrade Femi Awogboro urged leaders to engage themselves in an issue base campaign and the electorate to choose the leaders that are competent, vibrant and has the love of the masses in their heart.
