Oyo Min of Health Flags Off Workshop on 2023 Articulated Health plan

Oyo state Ministry of health has flagged off a five day workshop on the development of 2023 health operational plan to articulate the costed operational plan activities that will lead to next year annual budget plan for the ministry.
The event which involved all the health stakeholders in the state and the exercise is currently going-on in Oyo to develop an operational planning that would stand as guide for the year 2023.
While addressing Journalists, Oyo state Commissioner for health, Dr. Bode Ladipo averred that the call towards putting the state affordable health service delivery to the people at the grassroots has been in revamped mode since the commencement of this administration which has made the state ministry of health achieved unprecedented success.
He added that the ministry is also brainstorming on how best would be able to link the health insurance with communities inorder to ensure the people within the local communities do not utilize out of pocket expenditure for health service within the state.
“The state has actually made some very good landmark step along the way, as it is the call towards putting our health towards health service delivery has been revamped mode, as at the last count we have almost completed over 200 health facilities within the state which one of them between geo-political space of the political ward, outlook is to reach 351 wards that is to represent each of healthcare service point within the state.
Dr. Ladipo further said the approach of the present administration is that the larger majority of people in the state would be able to access health care without having to dip their finger into their pocket to access affordable good health care.
“We are also trying to see how best we would be able to link the health insurance with communities as it is.
“As we speak, the executive governor of the state has personally endowed 4 thousand lives personally not within the government funds towards the community insurance and that talks about the willingness to ensure that people within our communities do not utilize out of pocket expenditure for health service within the state.
“We hope that, if we go along with that trajectory perhaps the larger majority of people in Oyo state would be able to access healthcare without having to hope or dip their finger into their pockets.
He noted that the exercise is to set a realistic target for the ministry and access what that has been done and what is needed to be done.
Earlier in his remark, Director planning, research and statistics, ministry of health, Dr. Abass Gbolahan, said the purpose of the exercise is to develop common understanding of operational planning, its concept to achieve greater height at the end of 2023 calendar year.
He further noted the exercise is meant to undertake the status review and situation analysis for the purpose of articulating the annual operation plan for the ministry of health.
The ministry extended it appreciation to all it partners for their support and work in pertaining to public health intervention, Immunizations, malaria control, HIV and all other works.
The Ministry further asked for more support from it partners inorder to meet people of the state affordable public health.
