Gladness,Calabar Ladies’ Scribe Relishes Eight Years Golfing Experience

Gladness Dan, the secretary of ladies section of the Calabar Golf Club has relished the health benefits she has derived from playing golf for the past eight years and lofty plans to lift the ladies section.
The 25 handicapper disclosed this while speaking with Guardian after featuring at the recently concluded First Ladies Open Golf Championship of SB Abubakar Golf Club Port Harcourt where she gave a good account of her golfing prowess.
She expressed her willingness to collaborate with the executives of Calabar golf Club to turn things around at the ladies section by embarking on the awareness drive among the women folks to increase numbers of members.
She described golfers as very hospitable people, adding “golf provides me with an opportunity to meet new friends and also provides an opportunity to get rid of the hustle and bustle of each day and to leave the stress behind. Playing a round of golf is like relaxing my mind. I forget about the difficult world out there”.
Gladness however described her experience at the Ladies Open Golf Championship of SB Abubakar Golf Club as challenging owing to the size of the golf course which is nine holes that has to be played twice.
“The course of SB Abubakar Golf Club is small and very challenging, your hands have to be straight for you to be on the fairway, but I believe golf is always a work in progress no matter how good you are.
“The goal is to create very sound repeatable routines and golf movement that’s unique to you and makes you robust under pressure. All golf courses are unique in their own ways”, said the upwardly mobile lady golfer
