Oyo govt unveil 2022 Annual operational plan and Health Factsheet
… plans to reduce infant Maternity rate by 50%

Oyo state government on Friday, unveiled 2022 Annual Operational Plan and Health Factsheet to improve the quality of health indices through monitoring and evaluation.
Speaking at the event, held at Ibadan Business School, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bode Ladipo described the ministry’s Annual Operational Plan as
practical document meant to guide health workers in the state to
achieve objectives and mandate of the ministry.
Ladipo, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr.Olusoji Adeyanju, affirmed that proper planning remains the bedrock for
excellent performance in every organization.
He noted that the government is committed to reducing infant maternity
rate by fifty percent, adding that birth attendants were trained regularly for
optimal performance in various health facilities .
” The Dissemination of 2022 Annual Operational Plan is to guide us in
carrying out our activities as we all know that planning is key in
everything we do in life “
” Our target is to reduce infant maternity rate by 50 percent. Parts
of the things we are doing to achieve this is the increase in the
numbers of birth attendants in our various facilities. While some of them have been

” Another effort is availability of drugs and adequate health care for
the mothers before, during and after delivery.
In her remarks, the Oyo State Coordinator,US President Malaria Initiative , Dr .Ayandipo Oluwayemisi Esther, said that one of the objectives of the organisation is to improve data management, promised that the organisation will continue to support the state in this area.
She hinted that USPMI is currently supporting about 426 facilities under malaria elimination program, adding that the organisation will continue to provide anti – malaria commodities for the facilities at no cost.
Also speaking, the Oyo State Coordinator, World Health Organization,
Dr. Zorto Philip ,said that the focus of the organisation is to ensure that all state programs are integrated in a version that everybody will benefit from all the information that are provided to ensure that over 1million people benefit from the universal health coverage(UHC).
He maintained that the Nigeria minister of health has strongly recommended that the country cooperation strategy be adopted and implemented in all states.
He appreciated the government for bringing project implementing partners together to review the data.
