Aseyin of Iseyin Joins Ancestors

The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganiyu Salawudeen, has been reported dead.

Aseyin joined his ancestors on Sunday afternoon after an illness he battled for months at the University College Hospital, UCH

Salahudeen, a University of Ibadan-trained veterinary doctor, ascended the throne in 2007.

The king is the fourth senior traditional rulers in Oyo State to have rested after the exit of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Ajagungbade Oyewumi, on December 2021; the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, in January; and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, April.

It was learnt that the king had been sick for some time but the actual cause of his demise was not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

Aseyin died at the aged of 62.
