From Ogundele Olanrewaju
Scores of students have staged protest against the extended strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (A.S.U.U).
The students majorly from the University of Ibadan were joined by students of other universities in Nigeria where major roads have been blocked with hinderance to vehicular and pedestrians movement.
A.S.U.U began strike two months ago over revitalizion of public universities, the Earned Academic Allowances, the University Transparency Accountability Solution, promotion arrears and some others.
While lodging their complaints during interview session with National Daily news Correspondent, Ogundele Olanrewaju, the students noted that strike action paralyzes academic activities and also joepardizes their future.
They stated that the industrial action makes most of them idle and hinders their plans for progress because plans beyond school have been mapped out for success.
As the strike action continues amidst heavy presence of security operatives, Federal Government is expected to convene emergency meeting to address issues that culminated in the strike action.
