ADENIYI AKINTOLA, SAN : WHO THE CAP FITS
From Ogundele Olanrewaju
Robert Nesta Marley was an incredible philosophically imbued singer and song writer whose popularity has refused to wane decades after his demise.
Thinking positively for the good of humanity is the major line that separates the ones remembered in public life like Marley from the ones condemned to the trash bin of history.
The altruistic nature of the public hero always pushes them towards societal progress even at the risk of their lives.
They almost always have at a time or the other experienced deprivation and as such work assiduously to help in diverting humanity from swimming in such debilitating waters.
Obafemi Awolowo, Kwame Nkrumah, Marcus Garvey, Nelson Mandela,The Revd. Martin Luther King, Nwalimu Julius Nyerere and so on. They belong to a selfless class who will, no matter what work on the side of the people.
Currently in our struggle to find a direction politically in Nigeria is an individual plying his progressivism on the left in the APC and his name is Niyi Akintola, SAN who posseses a great percentage of the traits of some of these global icons.
Born into a humble background, he worked his way up the ladder boot strap by boot strap and has proven that as opined by Shakespeare, “it’s not in our stars..” our destiny is squarely placed in our hands.
Divine providence manifests for those who seize their opportunities with both hands like AKINTOLA. He has used his hard earned fame to better the lot of Nigerians across the strata of society. In public offices we need go getters like him who have made something of their lives not layabouts who depend on public funds to create schisms in order that the fallout might benefit them as is the case in Oyo APC.
Like Bob Marley posited “give the cap to whom it perfectly fits (Niyi Akintola) ” and not charlatans who cannot win in the polling booth closest to their homestead.
