Osinbajo Presidential Declaration: Bishop Olubadejo Chides MURIC Over Comments
From Ogundele Olanrewaju
Bishop Olubadejo made this condemnation while reacting to the MURIC’s statement in a press statement made available to journalists on Wednesday.
According to Bishop Olubadejo, ” for the MURIC to have said that, Osinbajo’s Presidential declaration looked like back-stabbing Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC is uncalled for and unacceptable”.
According to Bishop Olubadejo who described the group’s statement signed by its founder and Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola as worthless and forfeited said, presidential bid has been zone to the South-West and it is not peculiar to any religion either Christian or Muslim.
“The MURIC statement also said that they are in need of a Yoruba Muslim as Nigeria President in order to liberate them from decades of marginalisation, impoverishment, oppression, persecution, tyranny and injustice, but who told them Muslim have been marginalised neither Yoruba, Hausa or whatever? Sentiment or ethnic apart, immediately General Olusegun Obasanjo who is a Christian left the office as nation’s President, he handed over to a Muslim President, Alhaji Yah’Radua, while Jonathan, a Christian took over from him due to his demise then, having spent a term, Jonathan too handed over to President Mohammad Buhari who is also a Muslim who has already spent eight years, so as it is now, it is another chance for the Christian President and the person is Prof Yemi Osinbajo” the Cleric said.
Bishop Olubadejo added that for Prof Akintola to have accused Prof Osinbajo of carrying out an instruction of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, following the creation of a political department is wrong saying Prof Osinbajo has been on his presidential ambition ever before the creation of a political department under the famous Church.
“Let the entire Yoruba wake up and demonstrate our complete support for Prof Osinbajo who is ready to serve the entire nation, I repeat entire nation as his office belongs to all and sundry, may be Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo among other.
” Prof Osinbajo’s ambition is not against the Southwest decision as claimed by the Islamic group, his decision is constitutional and acceptable by God, while I want to urge the entire MURIC to join hands with million of Nigerian in supporting the Prof Osinbajo’s Presidential ambition for us to move the nation’s forward in all ramifications ” Bishop Olubadejo concluded.
