2023 Presidency : Fayose Withdraws from PDP Zoning Committee

One of the 37 members constituted by the opposition party, PDP to see to the zoning arrangements of the party Presidential candidate and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has resigned from the zoning committee over his presidential ambition.
In a letter dated April 5, 2022, addressed to the Chairman of the PDP zoning committee, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom. Fayose, a two-term governor of Ekiti of state added in his letter that it will not be morally right and speak well of me to continue to take part in the zoning discussion while being an aspirant of the party. Therefore, my state has replaced me with Dr. Gbenga Faseluko for this wonderful assignment. He made it known that he has informed the committee during their last meeting about his intention to run for the office of the President in the coming primary election and by God’s grace, the general elections.
Meanwhile, Fayose had expressed an interest in becoming Nigeria’s president in 2023 last Thursday while discrediting reports that he had endorsed and supported another presidential aspirant, Peter Obi ahead of the party primary
