No Rhetoric Can Pull Akin Fagbemi Down, He Is Committed To Development Of Ibadanland
…As Ibadan Mogajis Say They Are Solidly Behind OYRTMA Boss
By Ogundele Olanrewaju
The comity of Authentic Mogajis of Ibadanland, has vehemently said that no side talk or rhetoric from any quarter can pull one of their own, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, down, just as they described him as a true son of the soil whose tremendous contributions to the growth and development of Ibadanland shall not go unnoticed.
National Daily news gathered that the Publicity Secretary of Association of Mogaji (Ibadan family heads), Mogaji P.K.O. Aniseere said this while reacting to a facebook publication by one self-acclaimed Aare Ounpitan using the facebook name ‘Itan Yoruba’ and attempted to assassinate the character and personality of Mogaji Akin Fagbemi.
According to Mogaji Aniseere, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi remains a highly dependable and trusthworthy heir to the throne of Olubadan of Ibadanland and a personality that all the Mogajis are proud of. He therefore disavowed the slanderous claims of ‘Aare Ounpitan of Ibadanland’ calling it only a pigment of his wildest imaginations and not the true representation of what Mogaji Fagbemi stands for.
You would recall that on Wednesday 23rd February 2022, the self-acclaimed ‘Aare Ounpitan’ reportedly visited the Headquarters of the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) under the Chairmanship of Mogaji Akin Fagbemi to seek an impromptu audience regarding the seizure of his vehicle which disobeyed road traffic laws of Oyo State and was therefore impounded.
Unfortunately, the ‘Aare Ounpitan’ according to our findings could not gain immediate access to the OYRTMA Chairman, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi who was at the time in a serious management meeting. Thereafter, the ‘Aare Ounpitan’ proceeded to facebook to make slanderous claims deliberately to tarnish the good image and personality of Mogaji Akin Fagbemi.
The publication instantaneously sparked an humongous backlash both physically and on social media as many distinguished Ibadan sons and daughters including The FIBAN Chairman in Oyo State, Com. Oluwaseun Awodele rebutting the claims of “Aare Ounpitan’’ of Itan Yoruba on facebook as been deliberately slanderous. Com. Awodele was quoted to have described Mogaji Akin Fagbemi as a great achiever whose handiwork is felt across the length and breath of Ibadanland. “The entire FIBAN recently decorated Mogaji Fagbemi with a meritorious award just five days ago in recognition of his positive impact on Ibadanland. He is a great man that deserves fair hearing and does not in any way deserve the condemnations credited to Aare Ounpitan”, Com. Seun Awodele reportedly said during a reconciliation meeting that was conveyed by concerned elders of Ibadanland.
Also in attendance at the reconciliation meeting were the SSA to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on SDGs, Hon. Kunle Yusuff, C.E.O Agidigbo FM, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, tSpokeperson of Ibadan Mogajis, and other respected elders of Ibadanland who mediated in the matter. The elders decribed Mogaji Akin Fagbemi as a refined gentleman whose significance in the present administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde and roles in the stability, growth and development of Ibadanland can not be easily jettisoned.
While the Aare Ounpitan retracted his publication and pulled it down on social media for misleading the public, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi extended a hand of fellowship and embraced the “Aare Ounpitan” who the OYRTMA boss described as a great friend with whom he is happy to meet.
