Oyo FOMWAN Congratulates Lekan Balogun , Prays His reign usher in More Developments

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN, Oyo State Chapter has congratulated Senator Lekan Balogun on his approval and confirmation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a congratulatory message issued and signed by the Oyo State FOMWAN Amirah, Alhaja (Dr) Bushra Oloso, the Association pray Allah to make the reign of the new Olubadan to be peaceful and to usher in more developments for Ibadanland, the largest city in West Africa.

Oyo FOMWAN recalled that the announcement of Sen. Lekan Balogun by Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday followed his recommendation as the 42nd Olubadan by the Olubadan-in-Council.

” Our felicitations go to Senator Lekan Balogun on his announcement as the 42nd Olubadan. Oyo FOMWAN is using this medium to appreciate Allah on behalf of the new Olubadan especially for sparing his life up till this moment. We also pray to Allah to grant him sound health and mind and above all longevity to enjoy his reign and to further develop the ancient city of Ibadan. Amin “

Alhaja (Dr) Oloso described the approval as a well deserved one for Sen. Lekan Balogun who is the most senior chief from the two Ibadan chieftaincy lines.

” Sen Lekan Balogun is endowed with vast administrative, political and traditional experiences and acumen to become the Olubadan. His wealth of experiences will surely come handy in his new position as the 42nd Olubadan. “

Oyo FOMWAN lauded the peaceful resolution of the controversy which surrounded the announcement of the new Olubadan after the demise of late Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso the first on January 2nd, 2022.

The Association further applauded the ascendancy system of becoming Olubadan which it described as unique.

” The ascendancy system of becoming Olubadan of Ibadanland remains one of the best anywhere. Kudos to the Olubadan-in-Council for upholding the age long tradition. Long live the new Olubadan, long live the people of Ibadanland, Oyo State and by extension Nigeria. Kaabiyesi o ” The Amirah prayed
