Oyo reiterates commitment to sustaining qualitative education

Oyo state government has disclosed that the present administration is committed in ensuring that it vision of promoting qualitative education is sustain.
The disclosure was made by governor Seyi makinde who was represented by his executive assistant on administration, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe during the Non-Academic Staff Union of educational and associated institutions regular meeting of schools and colleges trade group council, which was held at the international conference center University of Ibadan.
Governor makinde said that improving quality education in the state has made the his government to increase the budget on education.
He assured that the present administration will continue to promote an equal opportunity policy within the teaching and non-teaching profession with respect to the promotion of all the various cadre within the teaching and non-teaching cadre.
In his address, the deputy president, Comrade Haruna Kamara pleaded on federal government that the non teaching personnel and support staff in the nation’s public primary and post primary schools are not left out of the implementations of it government approved 60 to 65 percent years retirement age of service in the country education sub-sector system.
He called on Nigerians to remain steadfast and focused in supporting the nation armed forces and law enforcement agencies with vital information that will enhance their capability to completely defeat the multiple security threat confronting the country.
In her remark,Oyo state branch chairperson NASU, Comrade Mrs Adediran Adenike appealed to the state government to extend the gesture of his peculiarity allowance of 27.5 percent for the teaching staff to get to Non-teaching cadre of the state education institutions.
At the event Oyo state governor Engineer Seyi makinde was honoured with an award of systematic approach to governance.
Government functionary present at the event are: Executive Assistance to governor makinde on Administration, Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe, Special adviser to governor makinde on Labour matter, Comrade Titilola Sodo, chairman Oyo state teaching service commission, Pastor Akinade Alamu and the Permanent Secretary TESCOM, Mrs Grace Oderinde and others dignitaries.
