Dayo Ogungbenro, respectively.
The chairman, Oyo State Advisory Council, Senator Hosea Agboola, who made the presentation at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, on behalf of the governor, charged the duo to work together for the success of the PDP.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted Agboola as describing the governor as a kind-hearted man who cares for the party and the masses in the state.
He also used the occasion to urge other governors in the country to emulate the uniqueness of Governor Makinde.
He also called on Mustapha and Ogungbenro to collaborate for the progress of the party, adding that the gesture from the governor is commendable and unprecedented in the history of the state.
“I want to let you know that the governor is always after the welfare of the leadership of the party in the state. This is going to be the first time he will be giving a parting gift to the outgoing chairman and the incoming chairman a welcoming gift.
“This is a remarkable development and I believe the party will continue to progress in the state. It is a good thing that other governors from other states must copy. We pray that the tenure of the incoming chairman will engender unity and progress for the party.
“Indeed, we really need to thank God for everything the government is doing in the state. We have a governor who has good agenda for the party.”
In their various reactions, the duo of Hon. Ogungbenro and Alhaji Mustapha thanked Governor Makinde for his magnanimity.
The duo promised to remain focused and to protect the party from the threat of external forces.
