OYSG TO ENSURE QUICK DISPENSATION OF JUSTICE- OLANIYAN

The Oyo state government has reassured the citizens and residents of the state of quick dispensation of justice and full independence of the judiciary in the state.
The Oyo state Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, made this assurance during the special service to commemorate the 2021/2022 Legal Year at the central mosque, Oja’ba, Ibadan.
Engineer Olaniyan asserted that the judiciary works independent of the executive and there is no sort of interference from the executive arm of government adding that the executive will not attempt to tamper with the process of the temple of justice.
He therefore appealed to the judges to keep the good work going and discharge their duty with fairness and in the fear of God.
The Chief Judge of Oyo State Justice Munta Abimbola, applauded the Seyi Makinde-led administration for the intervention in the judiciary that made the state recruit 4 new Judges with assurance that another 6 will be appointed.
This has made it possible to bridge the personnel deficit in the judicial system, thus, taking away a major challenge the judiciary faced in the last legal year.
He said the purpose of the new legal year is to reinvigorate the spirit of justice system which will see people witness speedy administration of justice as judicial divisions such as the moniya divisions will be operational.
The Chief Judge said a correctional centre will be established to pursue child justice system in order to complement family courts.
